Team Canada at the drivers presentation at the 2009 Grand Finals |
In 2000, the ROTAX Kart Centre created a worldwide series of kart races called "ROTAX MAX Challenge". For 2010, the RMC is presented as a national competition in over 60 countries. This series is an "CIK-FIA authorised series". The engines used are the FR 125 Junior MAX, the FR125 Max and the Max DD2 with strictly no modifications allowed. The main reason for participating in the ROTAX MAX Challenge should be the pleasure of kart racing, without the intention of spending more time in the pits than on the track and most of the money on unexpected engine repairs. At the end of the year, a total of 250 drivers (senior, junior, DD2 and DD2 Masters classes) coming all around the world will be invited to race at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Italy from November 14-20, 2010. In 2010, the Canadian Rotax Max Challenge will run in regional series. The National Final will take place during the ASN Canada-FIA Championships, August 20-22, in St-Roch-de-L'Achigan (Qc). The National champion and the runner-up in the Max Junior, Senior and DD2 classes, plus the winner of the DD2 Masters class will be invited to race at the Grand Finals. The champion in same classes from the Western Challenge series will be invited to race at the Grand Finals. With the qualification of Daniel Morad (DD2) and Pier-Luc Ouellette (Rotax Max) at the Florida Winter Tour, and the qualification of Philippe Gélinas (Rotax Max) at the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas, 14 drivers will represent Canada at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals next November. There is no series entry fee to register in the Canadian Rotax Max Challenge series. To reach the official Rotax Max Challenge Website, click here |
